To calculate two-variable statistics using the TI-Nspire family handheld and computer software, please follow the example listed below.
X List = {1,2,3,4,5}
Y List = {6,7,8,9,10}
Using a handheld:
1) Press [home] and add [Lists & Spreadsheet].
2) In column A, input the values from "X List", making sure to press [enter] after each entry. Repeat this step for column B using the values from "Y List".
3) Press [menu] [4] [1] [2].
4) For "X List", input column A by pressing [A] [ctrl] [[].
5) Press [tab] and input column B for "Y List" by pressing [B] [ctrl] [[].
6) Press [enter] [enter] to save the input and finish the calculation.
7) If the calculated data cannot be read (due to the column width), resize each column by first moving the cursor into the column to be expanded by pressing [menu] [1] [2] [2].
Using the software:
1) Click [Insert] and select [Lists & Spreadsheet].
2) In column A, input the values from "X List", making sure to press [enter] after each entry. Repeat this step for column B using the values from "Y List".
3) Click on the [4: Statistics] [1: Stat Calculations] [2: Two-Variable Statistics].
4) For "X List" type [A].
5) Click on "Y List" and press by type [B].
6) Click on [OK] to finish the calculation.
7) If the calculated data cannot be seen (due to column width), resize each column by clicking and dragging the column heading.
