Solution 34420: Performing T-Test Computations Using the TI-83 Plus and TI-84 Plus Family of Graphing Calculators.
How do I compute a T-Test on the TI-83 Plus and TI-84 Plus Family of graphing calculators?
The following example demonstrates how to perform a T-Test calculation.
Data for this example:
{30.3, 30.5, 30.6, 31, 30.7, 30.7, 30.4, 30.9, 31}
Entering the data:
1) Press [STAT] [1] to access the STAT List Editor.
2) Input the example data into the L1 list, pressing the [ENTER] key after each entry.
3) Press [2nd] [MODE] to QUIT the STAT List Editor and return to the home screen.
Computing the T-Test:
1) Press [STAT] and scroll to the left to highlight TESTS menu.
2) Press [2] to select the T-Test function.
3) If "Data" is not selected, move the cursor to highlight Data and press [ENTER].
4) Input 30.5 for the claimed value of m0.
5) Make sure List: is set to L1. If not, move the cursor next to List: and press [2nd] [1].
6) Highlight >m0 and press [ENTER]. This means the mu (m) is greater than the alternate hypothesis (m0).
7) Scroll down to Calculate and press [ENTER]. The T-Test returns a test statistic of 2.1009.
