Solution 10270: TI-Navigator™ Type I Network Hubs Associate as Mercury Instead of the Network Hub ID When Added to the TI-Navigator System.

Why does my TI-Navigator Type I Network Hub display as "Mercury" when I try to add it to my TI-Navigator system?

Why does my TI-Navigator Type I Network Hub display as "Mercury" when I try to add it to my TI-Navigator system?

Sometimes, due to exceptional circumstances, a TI-Navigator Network Hub will associate as "Mercury" instead of its hub ID. To resolve this issue and allow the hub to function normally, simply remove and re-associate it. Follow the steps outlined below to re-associate a TI-Navigator Network Hub:

• To remove the Mercury hub, first open TI Network Manager.

• Highlight the Mercury hub from the list of hubs that appears.

• Remove the Mercury hub by either clicking Actions > > Remove Hubs from the drop down menu or by clicking the "RemoveHub" Remove Hub Icon icon on the toolbar.

Remove Mercury Hub

• Re-associate the hub with the TI-Navigator system by either clicking Actions >> Add Hubs or clicking the "Add Hubs" Add Hub Icon icon.

• Follow the directions displayed in the "Add Hubs" wizard when they appear.

Note: The hub associated as "Mercury" is easily identified by matching the associated hubs to the IDs that are displayed in the TI Network Manager. The hub ID numbers displayed in TI Network Manager correspond to the last digits of the serial number engraved on the back of the hub. The hub whose ID is not listed in TI Network Manager is the one represented as "Mercury". It may be necessary to reset the "Mercury" hub again during the Add Hubs process.

If none of the above troubleshooting steps resolve the issue, please contact TI-Navigator Technical Support at 1-866-TI-NAVIGATOR (1-866-846-2844) or submit the TI Cares™ Customer Assistance form to contact via e-mail.
