How do I find the y-intercept of a function with the TI-85 and TI-86?
Use the YICPT instruction to find the y-intercept using the TI-85 and TI-86. Please refer to the example below.
Example: Find the y-intercept.
y= 2x+3
Solution:
Graph the equations.
• Press [GRAPH] [F1]
• Input the equations.
• Press [2nd] [F5], the graph should now display the screen.
• Press [MORE] [F1] [MORE] [F2] (Press [MORE] [F1] [MORE] [F4] on the TI-85)
• Press [ENTER] for the result
The screen will display the y-intercept.
